Coffee with the Here & Now

All we are guaranteed is the here and now, this moment while your heart is beating and you are breathing.

When we live in our past, it tends to only breed regret or shame.

When we live in our future, it tends to only stir up anxiety and worry.

We miss it.

We miss opportunities to live our best moments now when we choose to not fully be present in these beautifully sacred existence.

We wonder where is the meaning, the why behind our lives, so we choose to chase.

We chase fulfillment through fun.

We chase the meaning while trying to avoid the mundane.

I am realizing that the more abundant life that Jesus promises is in the here and now: seizing our moment, gripping life and squeezing all the beauty and goodness of this life here and now no matter the season, the kind of day ahead, even in a pandemic where days tend to bleed together.

Jesus still promises us meaning and a fulfilling existence.

Yes, we have regrets, and yes, we have worries, but we will never get a chance to relive this sacred moment where God desires to speak if we would only listen, right here and right now.

Let’s let go the shame of the past, the worries and anxiety of our future, and just be present for this moment.

In this moment, we have the power to let go and learn from our past, surrender and pray about our future, so we can fully live life more abundantly now.

Let’s find the meaning in the mundane and let’s choose fulfillment over just simply waiting for the next “fun” moment.

God is in the here and the now. Don’t miss it.
