Coffee with Lazarus

t’s been 4 days of waiting in this Lazarus tomb.

Long seasons of trusting

Grave clothes on our soul encroaching

We tasted and seen the goodness of His presence

Yet, this long wait has dulled the taste and darkened our eyes

It is hard to see

We are the one that God loves but we have forgotten

Waiting even longer

Chaos heightens, stress thickens, hope darkens

Where are you, God?

We wait alone, nothing

We wait with Him, something

Jesus declares: “This season will not end in death”.

We hear, and we choose to take in His

Glorious light

Presence divine

God has always been in our here and now

Claiming death is just sleep

If we would just believe

Community bringing comfort to the chapters that we believe are ending

Dreams we deemed dead but were only sleeping

God has always been in our Lazarus tomb

It is about time to take off the grave clothes and move

Awake our dreams that were never dead but only asleep

Dreams are not confined to our tombs rather are freed when we choose to move

In His Presence

Believing and saying “yes”

It has been 4 days since being in the tomb.

God was there all along

We were not dead but only asleep

Glorious light

Presence divine

God has always been in our here and now

Claiming death is only sleep

If we would just believe
