How can we spend time doing things we love?

How can we live at a place of contentment where we don't need more money or more things?

How can we live in a way that is authentic to ourselves and not to impress others?

These are pivotal questions that I have been asking myself this past weekend. I am learning and embracing the word “enough”.

I have found that as I rest in this word that I am finding redemption and healing in it.

I am learning to be able to redirect my perspective to choose to not be overtaken by the storms or difficulties that I am facing.

I am enough.

Who I am is enough.

What I do is enough.

My best is enough.

I say this to you:

You are enough.

Who you are is enough.

What you do is enough.

Your best is enough.

Allow this word “enough” to be the wind to your wings that empower you to weather through the storm and not to be overcome by it.

Let’s strive to be more real and authentic to what are real needs, wants, and desires are.

I feel so many times that I self-sabotage the promises that I make to myself like saving money, being healthier, building community because I chose to entertain the feeling that I am “not enough”.

The feeling that “I am not enough” drives us to buy those unnecessary items to make us feel more enough.

The feeling that “I am not enough” drives us to find comfort in sweets, drinks, and numbing out on the couch to silence the feeling of not being enough.

The feeling that “I am not enough” drives us to isolate, disconnect, and cancel plans to pacify the story that we are not enough.

You are enough to keep promises that you have made to yourself. You are worth it, so let’s choose to “remove the weights from your wings”.

It was this power that shaped both our schedules and our finances, and it has been said that how you manage both of these things—your calendar and your checkbook—reveals your truest self. And here is what I want to say, then, about amassing: It is not powerful. It is simply a waste—of space, of time, of earnings. I tell you this as I survey my shoe rack, as I think of the hours spent online, mindlessly clicking, distractedly exploring in an attempt to find power in leather soles. Power is not to be found there. Joy is not to be found there. Love is not to be found there. Remove the weight from your wings.
