Passion
Gratitude
Vulnerability
These are my 3 words that I desire to align myself to this year.
A few days before 2020 ended, I wrote out a web diagram breaking down each of these words, and it gave me a clearer picture of who I desire to be for myself, God, and others.
Passion: to endure the suffering for dreams to be fully realized and birthed physically, spiritually, and financially
Living in passion in 2021 looks like this:
Completing my 30-day commitment of resetting my body in January 2021
Living intentionally and choosing health all of 2021
Preparing my body for motherhood
Honoring my promises to our financial goals by sticking to our budgets
Committing myself to quiet time with God in prayer and conversation
Resilience that pushes me through the discomfort and pain of dreams realized
Gratitude: awareness of God as love in everything and in every moment
Living in gratitude in 2021 looks like this:
Living in contentment
Enjoying each moment
Recognizing God’s little and big gifts
Being a gift of generosity to others
Being present
Savoring the mundane and the magical moments
Less rushing and more rhythm
Enjoying more and buying less
Thanks-living
Vulnerability: unapologetically myself in honesty and brokenness towards myself, others, and God
Living in vulnerability in 2021 looks like this:
Re-evaluating what I say “yes” to and what I say “no” to
Choosing grace not perfection
Asking for help
Requesting
Less editing
Human-being and not a human-doing
Frugality and good stewardship
More community and less competition
Authentic boundaries
More real & less gossip
“Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon. The Lord will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength. You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring.”
I desire to be passionate, grateful, and vulnerable, so I have the capacity to pour myself out for others: to feed the hungry, help those in trouble, to be a warm light, to be a safe oasis, and a spring that flows and serves.
I encourage you to find the 3 words that will serve as anchors tethering you to your hopes, dreams, and desires. Despite what waves or storms may come, these anchors are guides home.
